Community Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery utilizes an intraoral scanner to take digital impressions or digital molds of your teeth and surrounding structures. In addition to being much more comfortable for the patient, using the intraoral scanner allows us to be more efficient and accurate, which can result in a reduced number of visits to the office, saving the patient time. This advanced technology is an excellent communication tool that allows a seamless collaboration with your referring general dentist, or dental specialist as well as the dental laboratory.
Yomi® by Neosis Robotic System
Community Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is very proud to be the first dental implant robotic center in the state of Wisconsin. Yomi® Robotic System is the first and only FDA-approved dental implant robotic arm in the nation. This technology allows for customized, precise, and efficient dental implant surgery. Yomi® works to guide Dr. Khader as she accurately and precisely places the implant and allows immediate and exact adjustments during your implant placement surgery.
Digital X-Ray
Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant, there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and enhance patient care. It’s also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer and chemical waste it is better for you and the environment!
Platelet Rich Fibrin
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a gel that is used in many oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures. The use of PRF has proven effective in reducing pain, improving soft tissue healing, and enhancing bony regeneration. PRF is made by simply drawing the patient's own blood and placing it in a centrifuge. The process of centrifugation condenses the platelet rich fibrin portion which allows us to easily use it in surgery. This gel can then be used in third molar (Wisdom teeth) extraction sockets, along with bone grafting material, or to cover exposed soft tissues.
Piezo Electric Handpiece (Piezotome Cube, by Acteon)
Piezoelectric handpieces allow for minimally invasive and precise bony cuts while performing procedures such as extractions, bone grafting, or sinus lifts. Utilizing this technology results in the preservation of vital bony structure and reduces trauma and bleeding. This in turn will result in an improved postoperative recovery course.
